Boys Soccer Ends Season in 5th Place

Edward Little’s varsity boys soccer team ended their season this year with a loss to Mt. Ararat. “Overall, it was a great season,” said head coach Matt Andreasen. “We started out losing our team’s scorer to transferring schools, and lost another to an injury, but we moved on, replaced them with different players, and had a good season.”

The team had high expectations for the season. However, it became unpredictable after the team lost their leading scorer, Masslah Hussein, to Lewiston. They also lost player Mohamed Ali to a torn acl that kept him out for the rest of the season. Despite these setbacks, the team moved on and managed to do a better job than they did last year.

This was Andreasen’s second year as head coach and he enjoyed the team. “They were all mild mannered and great guys,” said Andreasen.

The team finished fifth in the conference, with a record of 8-3-3, an improvement from a year before when the team went 7-6-1 for a sixth place finish.
