After 20 years as an educator at Edward Little High School, history teacher Ryan Laroche is parting ways for a new opportunity as dean of students at Leavitt Area High School.

After graduating in 1990 from Edward Little, LaRoche went to Springfield College in Massachusetts. As a high school student, LaRoche was a part of a study group and found that he had a high interest in history and did very well academically. Essentially he became a tutor to the class. From this he knew history was definitely an area that he had ability to help himself and others learn in. “History has pretty much been my focus from the start.” Entering Springfield, he entered as a history secondary education major.

Edward Little High School’s most hectic and time consuming part of spirit week is hallway decorations. This year’s hallway themes were Old time Disney movies, which was taken on by the freshmen class. The sophomore class had “High School Musical,” juniors were “Frozen,” and the seniors were “Pirates of the Caribbean.” At the end of the hallway judging, and cleanup, the seniors came up on top with first place, juniors second, sophomores third, and freshmen last place.

During the month of October more and more horror movies are released. But from those many, “Annabelle” rises above the fray and is a genuinely  suspenseful horror movie.

In “Annabelle,” the most recent film by producer James Wan of “Saw” and “The Conjuring” fame, John and Mia Gordon (played by Ward Horton and Annabelle Wallis, respectively) are expecting their first child, and they get into an argument when John doesn’t show enough enthusiasm about the baby. As a way to make up, John gives Mia a porcelain doll named Annabelle that Mia had been trying to find for years. Shortly after, Mia is brutally attacked by two members of a satanic cult. Following the attack, the Annabelle doll becomes possessed by a demon that will only stop when it consumes a willing soul.
